## **Code of Conduct**
### **Building a helpful professional community**
We're creating a space where East of England Learning Improvement Network members can accelerate improvement in patient care through connection, knowledge exchange and subject expertise.
This code of conduct keeps our community welcoming, respectful, and useful for everyone.
### **What you agree to:**
When you join, you become part of a network of people who want to learn, share, and support each other.
We all have different backgrounds and experiences. This makes our talk richer and more valuable.
### **As a community member, I will:**
#### **Create a respectful space**
- **Treat all members with respect.** Even when I disagree, I'll engage thoughtfully and in a helpful way.
- **Remember people talk differently**. Not everyone says things the same way. I'll give others the benefit of the doubt and ask questions when I need to understand better.
- **Avoid language that could make others feel unwelcome.** This includes unfair comments, personal attacks, or dismissive responses.
#### **Share knowledge responsibly**
- **Give accurate and helpful information.** If I'm not sure about something, I'll say so rather than present guesses as facts.
- **Respect other people's work.** When sharing materials or ideas from others, I'll give proper credit and make sure I have permission to share things that belong to others.
- **Be honest about my background.** I'll say when I have conflicts of interest that matter to the chat.
#### **Protect privacy and keep things private**
- **Respect the privacy of community members.** I won't share personal information about others without their clear permission.
- **Be thoughtful about what I share about myself.** Community chats may be visible to other members.
- **Keep things private when needed.** In chats about patient care, research data, or work information, I'll follow the right rules.
#### **Help create a useful community**
- **Stay on topic and add value to discussions.** Our focus is to enhance patient care through collaborative learning networks that enable healthcare professionals to share best practices, innovations, and expertise.
- **Use community features the right way.** I'll post in the right spaces, use clear subject lines, and organise content so others can find and use it.
- **Help keep our shared knowledge base.** I'll organise materials well, update old information when I can, and help new people understand how the community works.
#### **Support community wellbeing**
- **Speak up in a helpful way when I see problems.** Whether that's wrong content, uncomfortable behaviour, or ways the community could work better.
- **Report serious concerns to community moderators.** Contact **Karen Andrew (Senior Regional Improvement Manager) at [karen.andrew8@nhs.net](mailto:karen.andrew8@nhs.net)**, rather than trying to address major problems on my own.
- **Help new people feel welcome.** I'll answer questions, point them toward useful materials, and model good engagement.
### **What's not acceptable**
To keep our community safe, productive, and welcoming:
- **No unfair, harassing, or offensive content** targeting individuals or groups
- **No personal attacks or deliberately upsetting language** that derails chats
- **No sharing private or sensitive information** without proper permissions
- **No business promotion or spam** unless specifically invited by moderators
- **No attempts to disrupt the platform** or access other members' accounts
- **No deliberately spreading false information** or refusing to correct wrong information when challenged
### **When things go wrong**
**If you're having difficulty with another member:** Try reaching out directly first. Sometimes misunderstandings can be sorted out through respectful conversation.
**If you need help from moderators:** Contact **Karen Andrew (Senior Regional Improvement Manager) at [karen.andrew8@nhs.net.](mailto:karen.andrew8@nhs.net)** We're here to help resolve problems and keep a positive space.
**If you see content or behaviour that breaks these rules:** Report it quickly to **Karen Andrew (Senior Regional Improvement Manager) at [karen.andrew8@nhs.net](mailto:karen.andrew8@nhs.net)**
### **How we enforce these rules**
We address problems in a helpful way rather than as punishment:
1. **Direct chat** to clarify expectations and resolve misunderstandings
2. **Educational support** to help members understand community norms
3. **Working together to solve problems** to address bigger issues
4. **Step-by-step responses** for ongoing problems, always aiming to keep a positive space
Serious violations may result in account restrictions or removal from the community.
### **Making our community better**
This code of conduct changes with our community. If you have suggestions for improvement, share them with moderators, **Karen Andrew (Senior Regional Improvement Manager) at [karen.andrew8@nhs.net](mailto:karen.andrew8@nhs.net)**
**Remember:** The best communities are built by members who care about each other's success and learning. Thank you for helping create a space where we can all do our best work together.
**Questions?** Contact **Karen Andrew (Senior Regional Improvement Manager) at [karen.andrew8@nhs.net](mailto:karen.andrew8@nhs.net)**, for guidance.
_This code applies to all community spaces and activities. By taking part, you agree to follow these rules._
